Four is the number of stability, a quiet time where one is reminded to be grateful for what you have. The card pictures a man with his arms folded and not accepting the cup offered, even though he has three cups already. It reminds us that if we are offered things even if we don’t want them, we should decline them graciously or at least consider and listen to what is on offer.
The three cups lined up show that what the man has he is content with and doesn’t want to risk anything, yet also they could fall over at any time. It is a time of complacency, but the new cup may offer growth; have courage and faith and be open to new ideas.
